We would be remiss if we didn’t take the time to blog while we lived in such a unique, fairytale like location. You never know how long you’re going to be in one place. You can have plans, but with life those are always evolving and changing. What’s important though is that we keep the most important things the most important things.
But seriously, who gets to live in, and raise a kid in such a fairytale place? Our backyard contains an ice palace city. It has world renowned skiing on Thompson pass (20 minutes up the road). The whole summer it’s like we live in a wildlife zoo. At the fish hatchery thousands of pink and silver salmon come in, and with them, a pack(raft?) of sea lions, seals, and sea otters. That’s always great free entertainment. You never know when you’re going to see the big brown mama bear and her two big cubs floating down a stream, or their cousins playing on the bike path. Then there are the eagles. When visitors come and they see one of the many, many eagles, I’m reminded that, oh yeah, they are amazing – you don’t normally see a hundred eagles in a five minute drive. It doesn’t end there though! You just have to take a boat out an hour or so during the right season, and there could be hundreds of orcas in every direction you look.
We’ve been here for almost 4 years?!? And we haven’t been writing about it?!?
I am grateful to be able to watch Finn experience all of this for the first time. So that’s most likely what this blog will cover… As well as the day to day adventure of Finn sculpting us into the best parents we can be for him. That’s probably going to be the majority of this…. with some speckles of the “epic” adventures.
